Resin Bound Driveways & Pathways

STUNNING RESIN DRIVEWAY

Our clients in West Mersea wanted to replace their existing block-paved driveway, which had started to sink over time. We carried out a full excavation to remove the failing surface before installing a robust and permeable sub-base.

To ensure durability and stability, we laid edging kerbs and reconstructed the base using Type 1 material, followed by a layer of permeable tarmac. This provides excellent drainage and long-term performance.

The final surface was finished with a sleek Danish Quartz resin-bound blend, offering a modern and seamless aesthetic. For a defined look, we installed a contrasting Silver border, carefully shaped with aluminium trims to achieve crisp, precise lines.

Materials used in this installation:

Primary colour:

Danish Quartz

Border colour:

Silver, set with aluminium trims

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean a resin bound surface?

A simple sweep with a stiff broom will remove debris. For deeper cleaning, use a pressure washer with a fan-type lance, keeping at least 200mm from the surface to avoid damage. Avoid turbo nozzles or high-pressure jets in one spot.

Resin bound surfaces are resistant to weed growth, but wind-blown seeds may settle on the surface. Regular brushing and occasional power washing will help prevent this. If needed, apply a mild weed killer that’s safe for resin.

For oil spills, clean the area as soon as possible using a biodegradable oil remover, followed by a rinse with warm water. Avoid harsh solvents or bleach, as they may discolour or damage the surface.

Yes – rock salt or standard de-icing products are safe to use on resin bound surfaces during cold weather. These won't damage the resin and will help maintain grip in icy conditions.

We recommend light maintenance every few months, including brushing, washing, and checking for any debris or algae in shaded areas. This will keep the surface looking clean and performing as intended for years to come.
